Raiders’ Sean Smith facing felony assualt charges

Rob Leiter/Getty Images (LOS ANGELES) — Oakland Raiders cornerback Sean Smith faces felony assault charges after being accused of beating his sister’s boyfriend last month, according to Los Angeles prosecutors.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Smith faces one felony count each of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and battery with serious injury.

According to the criminal complaint, Smith allegedly inflicted great bodily injury upon the victim.

Prosecutors say Smith, 30, beat his sister’s boyfriend and then stomped on the man’s head in Pasadena, California, on July 4.

The Raiders have yet to comment on the situation.
