Rain Delays| Several Area Baseball Games, Including Dixie Youth Are Cancelled Due To Rain

The rain wins again.

Two more baseball playoff series scheduled for Friday afternoon have been cancelled.

According to Sand Rock baseball coach Tyler Driskell, Sand Rock’s Class 3A baseball playoff series at fourth-ranked Plainview has been postponed until Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon.

In Class 1A, second-ranked Cedar Bluff’s series with Valley Head has been moved to Saturday with an 11 a.m. start time. Game two is scheduled for approximately at 1 p.m. in Cedar Bluff.

Cherokee County will play at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at Jacksonville.

One other playoff series is still scheduled to begin on Friday evening: Class 1A Spring Garden at Skyline.

The class 3A baseball playoff series between Area 11 runner-up Glencoe (10-5) and Area 12 champion Piedmont (16-8) originally scheduled for this afternoon has been postponed. The Bulldogs will host a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 5 p.m.

The class 4A series between Area 11 runner-up Cleburne County (13-8) and Area 12 champion Hokes Bluff (14-6) has also been pushed back until Saturday at 3 p.m. The if-needed third game will be Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Also all Dixie Youth Baseball Games have been cancelled for today and Saturday, Girls Softball Games have also been cancelled for Saturday.
