Retiring Cherokee County Probate Judge Melvyn Salter, was honored by employees, co-workers, family and friends during a Wednesday afternoon reception.

County Administrator Tim Burgess addressed those gathered and shared some of his thoughts on what Mr. Salter has meant to Cherokee County – and how, time and again he has gone above and beyond to serve the people of the county, especially during the storms of April 27th 2011 – when he helped put plans in place to deal with the approaching storms and in the recovery efforts in the wake of the devastation.

We spoke with Mr. Salter following the presentation and he thanked all those in attendance – and said he thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent working with the people of Cherokee County.
