This is Fire Prevention Week, and WEIS Radio welcomed two experts in the fire prevention field to the studios on Tuesday morning, to discuss just what families can do to help protect themselves should a fire break-out. Fire Chief Rich Lindsey & Assistant Chief Barry Rogers with the McCord’s Volunteer Fire Department shared some important safety tips during the visit.
Fire Chief Rich Lindsey.
Making sure that your smoke alarms are working properly is vitally important – and proper placement is equally important:
Assistant Chief Barry Rogers.
Chief Lindsey invites everyone to take part in their Open House this Saturday at the fire hall starting at 11:00 that morning.
There will be a Fire Prevention Presentation at noon followed by a presentation on the new ISO rating and how it’ll affect your homeowner’s insurance.
Also, the department will be selling BBQ throughout the event.
To find out more about the many Fire Prevention Week programs and activities OR request an in-home smoke alarm inspection, contact Chief Lindsey by phone at (256) 484-1229.
