A 32-year old Rome man was jailed early Sunday morning after allegedly pointing a gun at two women at a residence on West Drive.
According to Floyd County Jail reports, Yunus Habib Kalavant, of a Melody Lane address, also beat one of the victims, resulting in injuries to the woman’s face. The incident is said to have occurred in the presence of an infant.
The victim was transported to Floyd Medical Center via ambulance and Kalavant was arrested in the Emergency Room waiting room.
He is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault and aggravated battery under the State’s Family Violence Act as well as 3rd degree cruelty to children.
