A 75 year old Floyd County man is currently facing two felony counts of aggravated assault on a police officer following an incident occurring on East Second Avenue.
Floyd County Jail records indicate that Frank James Vaughn had charged at a constable swinging a hatchet – when the official attempted to evict him from his apartment. Rome police were called to the scene after Vaughn barricaded himself inside the apartment.
Vaughn is also accused of swinging the hatchet at a police officer as he was taken from the scene
