Rome Woman Facing Charges For Striking Officers In Her Cell

A Rome woman is facing new charges after allegedly hitting an officer while being put in her cell.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Sherina Monique Fleming, 18, of a Woodbine Avenue address, caused numerous cuts on an officer’s face by hitting and scratching him while being escorted to her cell. Police say she physically fought and resisted being placed there.

Fleming is charged with obstruction and simple battery on a police officer. She was arrested earlier this month for simple battery.
