Routine Traffic Stop Results in Two Arrests

PairA routine traffic stop in DeKalb County Tuesday resulted in two individuals being arrested.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that a vehicle was pulled over on County Road 85 and consent was obtained by deputies to search the vehicle.

That search turned up a quantity of methamphetamine and the Drug Task Force was called in.

The driver, 37 year old Steven Ray Mitchell of Rainsville was arrested a charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant. One of the passengers, 23 year old Shacota Hill of Dutton, was also arrested due to an outstanding warrant in Jackson County.

Both were booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center; Mitchell is awaiting setting of bond while Hill is being held for Jackson County authorities.
