State Senator Phil Williams has forcefully responded to baseless attacks on his character and law practice by the Alabama Political Reporter, a blog run by Bill Britt.

In a show of transparency, Williams turned over his law firm’s client list to the Alabama Ethics Commission under seal for their review.

Williams had ignored Britt’s posts until he stepped over the line a few days ago and entered the realm of slander and defamation by alleging that Williams is under “criminal investigation.”

WEIS Radio News Spoke to Senator Williams on Monday who had this to say –

A full inquiry by the senator at all levels of government and law enforcement has revealed no evidence of any investigation whatsoever.

Williams is confident a review of the files will show he has zero clients with state interests and that his annual statements of economic interest to the Ethics Commission have fully complied with the law.

The Ethics Commission is in receipt of Senator Williams’ client list and will review it at his request to ascertain if there are any conflicts of interest.
