Four Injured in a Two-Vehicle Crash in Blanche on Monday Morning / UPDATED

A total of four people were hurt in a two-vehicle collision in Blanche on Monday morning.

That accident occurred just before 11:00am at the intersection of Highway 35 and Highway 273 at the foot of the mountain, approximately eight miles north of Gaylesville.

According to emergency personnel on the scene, at least one person was being transported by Cherokee EMS to Floyd Medical Center in Rome; one individual was treated at the scene; while one person was being air-lifted by Life Force Helicopter to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga after suffering a head injury in the crash.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident reports, those injured in the crash included 19 year old Zoe Ferquerson of Acworth, Georgia who was driving a 2000 Jeep, and a passenger in the vehicle, 18 year old Madison Taylor of Marietta, Georgia; also 51 year old Lori Moran, driving a 2004 Honda and a passenger in the vehicle 49 year old William Snead – both residents of Ft Payne.

Airbags on both vehicles deployed according to a Dogtown firefighter – who was first on the scene.

Others responding to the wreck included the Cherokee County Rescue Squad along with the Broomtown and Gaylesville Fire Departments.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
