Six people were taken to area hospitals by ambulance for treatment of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 27 South at Six-Mile early Thursday morning.  Police reports indicated that a Nissan Altima was traveling southbound in the turn lane and while attempting to turn left into the Industrial Park, was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck going northbound.

The driver of the Altima, 27 year old Victoria Colvin of Rome, along with four passengers in the car were all taken to Floyd Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries and the driver of the F-150 pickup, 27 year old Sarah Thomas, also from Rome, was transported by ambulance to Redmond Regional Medical Center, complaining of unspecified injuries.  It appears Colvin will be cited for Failing to Yield while turning left.

That wreck – which took place just before 7:00am – closed that section of roadway for over an than.
