(NEW YORK) — Starbucks’ mobile app will soon be a lot smarter, thanks to artificial intelligence.
The company’s new My Starbucks Barista is designed to be a chatbot that can soon take your order by voice, and allow you to pay remotely, so all you’ll have to do is pick it up — a “ready by” time will even be also offered.
Geekwire notes that a beta version should be ready for an early 2017 release. A limited beta version of My Barista for iOS is expected to be released in early 2017.
Whether the bot will get your name right on your cup, however, remains to be seen.
