Stolen Gun Recovered During Traffic Stop In Rome

Two people were arrested during  a traffic stop after police allegedly found a stolen gun in the vehicle.

According to a Floyd County Jail report, 29-year-old Terrance Cunningham Jr. of 408 Calhoun Avenue was stopped near the Hop-N-Shop  shortly before 9 p.m.

He had possession of a gun that had been reported stolen from Cartersville and had its serial numbers removed.

While police were arresting Cunningham, 28-year-old Lachanda Chervon Daniel of Rome approached the vehicle after being told to stay away by police. She entered the vehicle and tried to remove the gun, claiming it was hers.

Cunningham is charged with unlawful possession of any false, fraudulent or altered identification document,  probation violation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property.

Daniel is charged with criminal use of an article with an altered ID mark, theft by taking, tampering with evidence and obstruction.
