STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED

According to Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matthew Wade, two teenagers could face charges in connection with two cases of theft taking place at county high schools.

According to the Anniston Star, on Monday of this week, investigators recovered property taken from Wellborn High School and Ohatchee High School earlier this month.

Chief Deputy Wade would say on that the property was found in a home in Ohatchee.

According to Anniston Police reports from early April – two laptops, two hand-held radios and a hard drive were stolen from Wellborn High with the items having a combined value of $1,520.

Reports filed with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office in early April – indicated that an iPad, an 800 megahertz radio, three standard radios and $1,120 in cash were stolen from Ohatchee High School.

Wade says the incident is still under investigation, but he believes charges will be filed shortly.
