In recent weeks, we have been telling you about critical low levels of blood supplies in the area.
On Monday, Cherokee County residents turned out to do their part to help during a Blood Assurance blood drive at Cherokee Medical Center.
According to Kerri Owens, a Blood Donor Specialist with Blood Assurance, the turnout was very good.
Blood Assurance is the sole provider of blood and blood products for 70 heath care facilities, including Cherokee Medical Center.
Tina McCraw, who lives north of Gaylesville, was one of the donors.
She gives blood as often as she is able to.
