Summerville Man at Center of RICO Case Vacates Home

The Chattooga County man at the center of a RICO case involving the Floyd County Board of Education has reportedly moved out of his Summerville home.

The residence, located on River Bluff Drive – valued at $525,000, is part of the investigation dealing with the theft of some $5 million from the Floyd County School System according to Chip Hood, the Chairman of the Board of Education.

According to a report by the Rome News-Tribune, Derry Richardson, and his wife Lisa, have vacated the property. Derry Richardson, who had worked as a Maintenance Director for the school system, stands accused of inflating and falsifying invoices paid by the system.

His wife and eleven others have also been arrested in connection with the case and charged with violating the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
