Teen Injured When A Car Strikes His Horse

The rider of a horse was injured in collision with an automobile in Dekalb County Friday evening.

According to accident reports from the Alabama State Patrol, the mishap occurred at around 10:58 p.m. on County Road 169 in Dekalb County, about a mile west of the Alabama-Georgia State Line.

The driver of the Dodge was identified as Elizabeth Drew of a Trenton, Georgia address. She was not injured.

The rider of the horse was identified as 15-year old Hunter Santiago.

The teen was taken to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga for treatment of his injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
