Teenage Daughter of US Olympic Sprinter Tyson Gay Killed in Shooting

Ian MacNicol/Getty Images(LEXINGTON, Ky.) — An arrest has been made in the shooting death of U.S. Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay’s teenage daughter.

Trinity Gay, 15, was shot early Sunday morning outside the Cook Out on South Broadway in Lexington, Kentucky, according to police. Police said witnesses saw an exchange of gunfire between two vehicles outside the restaurant.

The Lexington Police Department said Sunday night that Dvonta Middlebrooks, 21, was arrested in connection with Gay’s death. He was charged with wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to police. Authorities determined he was in the parking lot and fired multiple shots at the time of the incident.

Police questioned another man after the shooting but said he was not charged.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
