Testimony Underway in High Profile Murder Trial in Northwest Georgia

Reynolds - RomeTestimony resumes today (Tuesday) in a high-profile murder case in Floyd County Georgia

Monday was the first day of testimony in the trial of DeWayne LaBron Reynolds, the first of three suspects scheduled to stand trial in the 2012 shooting death of Willie Terry Slack.

Investigators believe Slack was killed during a December 31st robbery attempt at his home on Kingston Avenue.

Assistant District Attorney Emily Johnson said Monday that a witness overheard the three men plotting the robbery – and that Reynolds had also made statements placing himself at the scene of the crime – defense attorney Mac Pilgrim says he plans to challenge the state’s assertion that the shooting occurred as the result of a robbery and contends that there is no physical evidence linking his client to the crime.
