Three Arrested Following Silver Creek Home Invasion Monday Morning

FCSO - Heath, William WilliamHeathmugshotThree suspects believed to have been involved in a Monday morning home invasion in the Silver Creek area, are now in custody.

The incident occurred near the Polk/Floyd County line at around 3:00am as officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Puckett Road; as they arrived on the scene the officers saw a red F-150 Crew Cab attempting to leave the area and a high-speed chase ensued.

During the pursuit one of the patrol cars crashed, leading to two police officers being transported to Floyd Medical Center for treatment of what turned out to be only minor injuries. 

Other units continued to follow the suspects’ vehicle until they finally bailed out and fled on foot – reportedly firing shots at police as they ran; fortunately, no one was injured by the gunfire.

All three individuals were eventually apprehended and taken into custody prior to 1:00pm.

37 year old William Thomas Heath (pictured), Stacey Michelle Martin, age 29 and Michael Scott Crumkelton, age 34, were all charged with Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, Cruelty to Children and Obstruction.

Additional charges could be forthcoming.
