Timmons Found Guilty of Murder in Connection with Shooting of Rome Man

Timmons 2After hearing closing arguments – and deliberating for a total of nearly three hours – a Floyd County Supreme Court Jury found 21 year old Kyle Timmons guilty of felony murder, in the shooting death of Dominique Spear, in the parking lot of Callier Forest Apartments in Rome in September of last year (2014). The verdict came down shortly after 4:00pm Wednesday, after hearing testimony from witnesses for two days.

Timmons was also found guilty of aggravated assault and aggravated battery, but found not guilty of malice murder. According to Timmons’ testimony on Tuesday, he admitted that he shot and killed Spear, and stated he regrets he did it.

Sentencing has been scheduled December 15th at 9:00am in the courtroom of Judge Bryant Durham.
