Town of Leesburg Purchases High Resolution Security Camera System

The Town of Leesburg is going “hi-tech” with the purchase of a high resolution security camera system.

The system consists of 16 cameras placed at various locations throughout the Town beginning at Leesburg Landing and Campground.

IMG_0019The cost of the purchase and installation is $7,956.50 – which includes both 5 megapixel and 3 megapixel cameras; the purchase is from Jason O’Neal of Cedar Bluff who is a local vendor who will also maintain the system for the Town.

In other business the council approved 30 mile per hour speed limit signs for Riverside Street.

The Council also granted approval for Mayor Ed Mackey to make an offer to purchase the Sims House located next to the town’s property and Fire Chief Joe Sonaty informed the Council about the purchase of a Thermal Imaging camera for the Department.

The Department will also be purchasing six sets of new turn-out gear.
