Traffic Stop Leads To The Arrest Of A Chattanooga Man On Drug Trafficking Charges In DeKalb County

On Saturday a DeKalb County K-9 Deputy pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on County Road 155 in Flat Rock. When the Deputy approached the vehicle the driver, 45 year old Jamie Shrader of Chattanooga Tennessee, told the Deputy that he had a Methamphetamine pipe in the vehicle.

Shrader was asked to step out of the vehicle, with K-9 Yogi then performing a search of the car resulting in the discovery of 38 grams of ICE methamphetamine, 24 Ecstasy, 4 Xanax, a set of scales and 2 hideaway compartments.

Shrader was then arrested and charged with Trafficking in any Illegal Drugs, 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson says “This is just another example of how our K-9’s Yogi and Marianna work with our Deputies and they are working extremely hard to rid drugs in our County. I would also like for everyone especially parents to be aware of this drug Ecstasy that is circulating around our County. Its appearance is a rainbow of colors like the marshmallows in Lucky charms. This is a dangerous drug and we need to educate our children to stay away from it.”
