Two people were airlifted for treatment following an accident on I-759 in Gadsden Monday night.

Gadsden Police said the crash occurred at 8:04pm with a 2006 Chevrolet pickup leaving the roadway and crashing.

One person was flown to Birmingham, while another was carried to Huntsville.

The crash is currently under investigation.

A DeKalb County resident was hurt in a single-vehicle wreck about 1:30 Tuesday morning.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report the accident took place on County Road 45, approximately a mile-and-a-half outside of Rainsville – involving a 2004 Ford, being driven by 21 year old Cory Knight of a Collinsville address.

No information regarding the extent of his injuries was noted on the report.

That accident is under investigation by Alabama State Troopers
