UPDATE|Two Airlifted Following Two Car Crash North Of Cedar Bluff

IMAG0104One person was transported to the hospital by ambulance and two others airlifted to area trauma centers following a two vehicle accident on Saturday afternoon in Cedar Bluff.

The mishap occurred on Highway 9 at the 266 mile marker at 4:06 p.m. just north of the Country Store with Cedar Bluff Police and Firefighters, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Cherokee EMS and Alabama Law Enforcement Officers responding to the scene.

Two separate Life Saver Helicopter units were dispatched to Cedar Bluff High where two of the victims were airlifted for treatment.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accidents reports the three injured parties were all occupants in a 2004 Kia, the driver identified as 35 year old Virgil Harrison of Rome along with two passengers, 41 year old Fred Moore and 30 Zachery Kidd were all injured in the mishap.

The driver of the 2nd vehicle, a 2001 Chevy escaped injury according to the report.

The exact cause of the crash is under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
