Investigators Arrest Pair in Connection with Church Burglaries

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with several church burglaries occurring recently in DeKalb County. A silver van matching a possible suspects vehicle was witnessed on County Road 365 by Sheriff’s Office Investigators and a stop was conducted; that vehicle was occupied by two males also matching descriptions issued in the case.

A search of the van revealed a large radiator – a steel wheel that appeared to be from an 18 wheeler – wire cutters – and a variety of tools.

As a result the two occupants – identified as 37 year old Anthony Collins of Ft Payne, and 34 year old Edward Barron of Grant were arrested and charged with being in the possession of burglary tools.

A complete inventory of that vehicle reportedly turned up more evidence linking the pair to two additional church burglaries.  Collins and Barron have also been charged with Theft of Property and investigators say more charges could be forthcoming.
