Two Gadsden Schools Placed On Lock-Down While Officers Search For Burglary Suspect

According to the Gadsden Times, two Gadsden schools were on a precautionary lockdown briefly Tuesday afternoon after a burglary subject being pursued by state law enforcement officers bailed out of a vehicle near Gadsden’s historic district.

Striplin Elementary School and Gadsden Middle School were placed on lockdown until law enforcement could saturate the area looking for the subject.

The lockdown was lifted and officers stood by at both schools during afternoon dismissal. The search for the suspect continues.
