Two Hurt in Highway 9 Accident in Cedar Bluff / UPDATED

IMG_2378Two people were hurt in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 9 North in Cedar Bluff Monday morning.

The vehicle – a 2002 Chevrolet driven by 64 year old Jean Rutledge of Cedar Bluff – appeared to have gone onto the soft shoulder of the road, rolling over before coming to rest right side up.

IMG_2383Rutledge was listed as being injured in the mishap, however reports failed to indicate where she was taken for treatment; her ten year old granddaughter, Emily Lucas was reportedly air-lifted to Eggleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta for treatment of her injuries.

That accident took place at around 9:50 with Alabama State Troopers, Cherokee EMS and Cedar Bluff Police & Fire Units along with the Cherokee County Rescue Squad responding to the scene

IMG_2379The cause of the accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
