Two Injured In Two Car Crash On 411 South

Two people were transported to Gadsden-area hospitals after being involved in an accident on Highway 411 South near the Etowah County Line, just after 4:00pm Monday.  According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, that wreck involved a 2002 Chevrolet driven by 18 year old Daxter Handy of Leesburg, and a 2004 Lincoln driven by Robert Cadle, age 29 of Gadsden.

Both drivers were listed on the report as being hurt in the mishap – and both were wearing their seatbelt.  No additional information regarding the extent of their injuries was noted.  Lanes were closed while crews worked to remove the victims from their vehicles and clear the roadway.

Emergency personnel from the Leesburg Police and Fire Departments, Cherokee EMS and Alabama State Troopers responded with assistance being provided by the Coates Bend Fire & Rescue Department from Etowah County.
