Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga with the Centre Police Department is seen here dusting the register for fingerprints.

Centre Police Investigators now know where a cash register found on Thursday morning in the parking lot of WEIS Radio came from.

The owners of the fireworks stand at Golden Beverages on the bypass in Centre noticed that the business had been broken into and robbed on Thursday when they went to make the first transaction of the day and noticed their entire stock of fireworks gone and the register missing.

According to Centre PoliceChief Kirk Blankenship, approximately $3,000 worth of fireworks were taken and fortunately there was only around $10 in change in the register at the time it was stolen.

WEIS Radio General Manager Jerry Baker arrived at work just after 4:30 a.m. and found the register laying in the parking lot next to the building – surveillance video from Golden Beverage shows a vehicle(pictured below), driving into the parking lot, and pulling up next to the fireworks stand and then a subject got out and busted the lock on the building before loading the trunk of the car with fireworks.

Investigators now need your help in identifying the person/persons responsible for this crime, if you have any information concerning this case, or you recognize the vehicle below, you are asked to contact Centre Police immediately at 256-927-3661.

Remember you do not have to give your name and all information will be kept confidential.
