US Gas Prices Inch Higher with Rising Oil Costs

iStock/Thinkstock(WASHINGTON) — As OPEC works to limit oil exports, with the goal of increasing prices, the impact is already being felt at the pump.

The price of oil has been inching up to a three-month high on speculation of how far OPEC will limit supply. And now at the gas pump, the Energy Department reports the national average price of regular unleaded gas has increased about two cents in the past week to $2.25 a gallon.

Drivers in Texas are paying the least at the pump: just $1.98 for regular unleaded gas. Californians are paying the most: $2.80.
