It’s time once again for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event, scheduled for Saturday morning, from 8:00 – 10:00 at the Education/Activities Building at Cherokee County Health & Rehab.
Margaret Eubanks, Jan Carr and Edna Richardson stopped by the WEIS Radio studios early Thursday morning to remind everyone about the gathering and to help heighten awareness of the many fundraising efforts being undertaken locally and across the nation, to help fund research – with the ultimate goal of finding a cure for this dreaded disease.
As Ms. Eubanks pointed out, research is vitally important in the battle against Alzheimer’s – with some strides already being made toward more effective treatment; however, research doesn’t come cheap, and the need for funding is never-ending.
T-shirts will be available for purchase Saturday and donations will be taken as well.
There will also be a Hot Dog Supper & Karaoke event Monday, October 19th starting at 6:00 that evening at the same location.
