Weiss Lake Holding Tank Program

NEWS RELEASE

The Weiss lake holding tank program has been operational for about two and a half years. The program consists of issuing notices of violation, evaluating initial applications for permit to install holding tanks, initially inspecting and approving holding tanks, evaluating annual renewal applications and inspecting and approving those holding tanks requesting annual renewal.

According to the Weiss Lake Holding Tank Ordinance Program Report, it is estimated that there are 2,000 RVs in the county jurisdiction for which the holding tank program applies. 223 RV sites are no longer in violation due to the RV’s being removed or being verified to be out of flood easement. As of April 20, 2015, over 1,590 permits have been issued.
