Rental CarA Rome woman remains in jail after allegedly stealing a rental car.

According to Floyd County Jail and Rome City Police reports, officers was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident neat the Chateau Drive residence of Robin Renee Jameson.

The officer asked Jameson to show proof of insurance for a 2014 Ford Mustang – which she claimed to have purchased in September of last year (2014).

She gave the officer an insurance card for another vehicle saying her insurance covered any vehicle she may be driving at the time; the officer advised her that was not the case. As the information on the vehicle was checked – it became clear that the vehicle had been stolen in Cartersville from a rental car company.

Jameson insisted that she had bought the 2014 Mustang for $3,700.

The arresting officer told her that the car was actually reported stolen last April; Jameson is currently being held in the Floyd County Jail, charged with Theft by Conversion.
