An Etowah County woman was fatally injured Wednesday night, in a head-on collision with a chicken feed truck near Walnut Grove.
According to County Coroner Michael Head, 31 year old Teresa Pruitt of Gadsden, driving a 1998 Ford Ranger, was traveling westbound on Highway 278 when her vehicle veered into the on-coming lane of traffic and collided with the feed truck.
That accident took place just before 11:30pm and it reportedly took 20 minutes to extricate Pruitt from her vehicle.
She died early Thursday morning at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
