Woman Wanted on Warrants Out of California Arrested in DeKalb County

DCSO - Rief, Tammy Cherie - 07-04-2013According to Sheriff Jimmy Harris – 45 year old Tammy Cherie Rief, was arrested by the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force in Ider and was taken to the DeKalb County Jail.

She was wanted on a warrant charging her with Child Abduction.

Rief refused to waive extradition after being booked on a Fugitive from Justice warrant, based on the California charge.

She was arrested in North Carolina last year, on a Fugitive From Justice warrant – based on the California charge, but after making bond and being released from the North Carolina jail, she did not go to her court date but instead left the state; the DeKalb County Court did not set a bond for Ms. Rief because of the flight risk as demonstrated in North Carolina.

After Rief refused to waive extradition, the California authorities were contacted and they sought a Governor’s Warrant through the California Attorney General’s Office.

In this particular case, a Governor’s Warrant was issued by the California Governor’s office and used to extradite Rief from the state of Alabama in order to be returned to California to face trial for the alleged criminal act.
