The “Women’s Club of Weiss Lake” Scholarship, established by the Women’s Club of Weiss Lake, is a $1,000 partial tuition scholarship to be awarded to a deserving female student and resident of Cherokee County attending Gadsden State Community College.
To apply, the student must complete a Women’s Club of Weiss Lake scholarship application (available through the Gadsden State Cherokee Financial Aid Office) and meet the following criteria:
- Female resident of Cherokee County, Alabama
- Demonstrate academic success by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 (B average)
- Be enrolled a minimum of 6 hours
- Satisfactorily demonstrate financial need for the scholarship
Recommendation of the scholarship recipient shall be made by the faculty/staff of Gadsden State Cherokee and will be awarded for the Fall/Spring 2016/2017 academic year.
Complete application packets must be submitted by Monday, May 2, 2016 to the Gadsden State Cherokee Financial Aid Office at 801 Cedar Bluff Road, Centre, AL 35960.
Award decisions will be made by June 1st, 2016.
A complete application packet consists of the Women’s Club Scholarship Application, typed statement of financial need, current résumé and one letter of recommendation from a high school or college faculty member/counselor.
