12 People Arrested at Etowah County Trade Day and Thousands of Items Seized

A dozen individuals have been arrested, after thousands of counterfeit items were seized Sunday, November 24th at an Etowah County trade day.

According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin 27 year old Adrian Perez of Rainsville along with two Albertville residents, 28 year old Sergio Gonzalez and 23 year old Julia Alonso were all arrested and charged with one count of the sale/rental of pirated recordings and with one count of theft of trademark/trade secret.

35 year old Marinara Mendoza and 41 year old Pedro Alvarado, both of Collinsville / Mohamed Abdelazim, age 25 of Gadsden / Letica Martinea-Lopez, age 43 of Anniston / Feliciano Mendoza age 29 of Ft Payne and Liqin Zheng, age 33 of Cumming Georgia – have each been charged with one count of theft of trademark/trade secret.

And 33 year old Juan Rios from Albertville was charged with two counts of sale/rental of pirated recordings (DVD’s/CD’s), meanwhile both 46 year old Vicente Castaneda of Collinsville, and 41 year old Martha Martinez of Crossville, were charged with one count of theft of trademark/trade secret and two counts of sale/rental of pirated recordings.

Each charge carries a $2,500 property bond, and eight of those 12 individuals also have holds for Immigration & Customs Enforcement.

Approximately 3,000 DVD’s and CD’s and other items were seized during the raid.
