There has been a collision involving an 18-wheeler and what was reportedly a pickup truck just across the line in Etowah County, on Highway 411 at Croft Ferry Road – that’s near the old Stone Animal Clinic building.  We’ve been informed that the pickup caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames immediately following the accident, which took place at approximately 7:20am.

UPDATE / NORTHBOUND LANE OPEN AS OF 12:25pm THURSDAY

The roadway is expected to be blocked for an extended period of time.

Any Cherokee County residents wishing to travel to Gadsden, will have to take an alternate route.
