An 18 wheeler hauling a load of garbage overturned on County Road 6 close to the Three Corners Landfill just before 2:00 Monday afternoon.
The driver of the rig, identified on the Alabama State Trooper accident report as Billy Bynes of Douglasville, Georgia was checked out at the scene by Piedmont Rescue EMS.
The Mt. Weisner Fire Department, Cherokee County EMA, the County Highway Department, officials with Advanced Disposal and Alabama State Troopers were all on the scene.
That accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
