A portion of Griffith Street behind the Grub Mart in Centre was completely shutdown just after 2:00 Saturday morning after an 18 wheeler pulling out of the back parking lot dropped the rear of his trailer in the ditch causing the entire truck and trailer to overturn on its side.
Several officers were already at the Grub Mart when the accident occurred and quickly rushed to assist the driver and a passenger, fortunately neither was injured. Centre Firefighters and Cherokee EMS Paramedics were called to the scene as a precautionary. The truck was reportedly hauling several thousand pounds of coffee.
