18 Wheeler Overturns On Highway 411 North On Tuesday Afternoon / UPDATED

The driver of an 18 wheeler was transported to a Rome-area hospital for treatment of what fortunately appeared to be minor injuries, after his 2001 Kenworth overturned on Highway 411 North near the 411 Junk Yard around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.

It looked as though the driver, who was from Boaz, lost control of the big rig along the soft shoulder of the road near mile marker 256 and ended up with the cab and trailer coming to rest on its side, losing its load in the process.  The truck was hauling chicken feed.

Spring Creek firefighters, Floyd EMS, the Cherokee County EMA, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Alabama State Troopers all responded to the scene.
