A somewhat-less-than-observant truck driver traveling along Highway 11 in Collinsville on Friday managed to take down power lines, and several power poles, near the nursing home, causing an outage across Collinsville stretching into Portersville.

The truck driver reportedly keep going following the accident – that is, until he met up with Ft Payne Police, who escorted him back to Collinsville where according to Collinsville Police he was cited for Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

Power was quickly restored by crew members of the Sand Mountain Electric Cooperative.
