“2 Dope Queens” say their Black History Month is all about Black Panther and Oprah

Mindy Tucker/HBO(NEW YORK) — Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson make up the dynamic comedic pair, 2 Dope Queens. The women, who have brought their popular comedy podcast with the same name to HBO as a four-part series, say their celebration of Black History Month is all about Marvel’s Black Panther and the illustrious Oprah Winfrey.

“Black Panther that’s my thought,” Robinson tells ABC Radio when asked about the annual observance. “I can’t wait to see it. [I] bought my movie ticket already, I’m pumped.”

In addition to the upcoming Marvel film, Robinson and Williams share another profound Black History Month moment.

“We met Oprah,” Robinson says. “So that was kind of like the Black History Month. She smelled great, her ponytail was beautiful…”

Williams concurs and chimes in with her own thoughts on the media mogul.

“She’s a damn peanut butter and jelly sandwich — is what she is,” she adds. “When you really… really want one.”

Part three of the 2 Dope Queens limited series airs this Friday, February 16 at 11:30 p.m. ET on HBO.

Marvel and ABC News are owned by Disney.
