2015 Leesburg Day To Be Held In Memory Of Mayor Edward Mackey

leesburglogoThe Annual Leesburg Day Celebration takes place this Saturday, this year’s event will be held in memory of Mayor Edward Mackey.

The festival will kick off with a Color Run for Kids ages 12 and under with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the race getting underway at 8:00 a.m.

Opening Ceremonies will begin at 9:00 a.m. featuring the crowning of Mrs. Leesburg, this year’s festival will once again include free door prizes and inflatable for the kids, new this year, tethered hot air balloon rides from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., trains rides, arts and crafts from local vendors in addition to antique cars and tractors.

Also new this year, Weiss Lake Water Sports will be doing demonstrations of their new “Fly Board” and will also have water sport activities available.

As usual the Leesburg Fire Department will be selling and array of food and drinks, including BBQ, Boston Butts, Smoked Chicken and Hamburgers and Hotdogs.

This year’s event will take place at the Leesburg Landing on Weiss Lake and WEIS Radio will be broadcasting live.
