The 2017 Cherokee County Invitational Basketball Tournament will tip off Thursday, December 21st in the Dale Welch Gymnasium on the campus of Spring Garden High School.
First on the court at 10 a.m. will be the Chattooga Lady Indians facing the Class 2A, No. 4 Collinsville Lady Panthers. They will be followed by the Double-A, unbeaten Chattooga boys squad against Collinsville. The Indians are looking to capture their third consecutive Christmas title.
Next up, the Glencoe Lady Yellow Jackets square off against the Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers at 1 p.m. followed by the Tiger boys varsity battling the Georgia Quad-A, undefeated LaFayette Ramblers.
At 4 p.m. the Handley Lady Tigers meet Sand Rock. The Lady Cats are defending their 2016 crown. Following that contest the Wildcats boys play Mun-Ford.
Then, at 7 p.m., the Class 1A, No. 1 Spring Garden Lady Panthers play cross-county rival Gaylesville. The nightcap features the 1A, No. 8 Panther boys versus the Trojans.
Tournament action continues Friday with championships to be contested on Saturday.
