2020 Centre Fall Festival Turns Out To Be A Great Success

The 2020 edition of the Centre Fall Festival was a great success. The annual event was held in downtown Centre on Saturday. This year, the Centre City Council added a slightly different twist to the festival with the 1st annual Centre BBQ Cook-off which turned out to be a popular event. Some 12 grill masters from as far away as Indiana showed up to compete for the $500 top prize.

Winners were:

  • 1st Place – Que Gotta Be Kidding – Brandon Laughlin, New Whiteland, Indiana
  • 2nd Place – Al Smoke – Jake Johnson, Centre, Alabama
  • 3rd Place – Pecan Wood BBQ – Joel Coker, Centre, Alabama

Of course, the annual fall festival parade was a hit. The Grand Marshal for the parade this year included Mayor Tony Wilkie and City Council members. The parade also featured the Cherokee County High School Band, antique cars and tractors, dogs, civic clubs, and the Cherokee Saddle Club.

The annual Fun Run was not held this year.
