Fundraising Efforts Underway for Piedmont Police Officer Suffering Stage 4 Cancer

The Police Benevolent Foundation and the Alabama Division of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association announced Thursday that they have created the “Officer Kevin Blue Recovery Fund.”

Blue, a six-year veteran of the Piedmont Police Department, was diagnosed earlier this year with Stage 4 Brain Cancer after going to the doctor due to memory problems.  He was given six months to live.  All donations to the fund are tax-deductible, with 100% of contributions going to Blue.  You can donate here.

He is a graduate of Jacksonville State University and was an all-state athlete in high school.

This is how one officer from a neighboring law enforcement agency described him – “When Kevin was telling everyone about his diagnosis, his first concern was how he had been carrying a gun and badge while he was sick; his first thought was about how he could have potentially hurt someone.  He wasn’t concerned about himself.”
