A 20 year old Cherokee County man is currently being held in the Floyd County Jail on child pornography charges. According to jail records, Austin Dakota Barnes, of a County Road 89 address in Gaylesville allegedly used the internet to seduce and lure a child under the age of sixteen to engage in sexual activity for the purposes of producing pictures. In addition to computer pornography, Barnes is charged with furnishing obscene materials to a minor, sexual exploitation of children, and obscene internet contact with a child.
He also faces a felony count of interference with custody for allegedly going to the home of the victim and then taking her across state lines to Cherokee County, Alabama.
