On Thursday, students from across Cherokee County attended an educational – and entertaining, program sponsored by the Weiss Lake Improvement Association.
We caught up with Weiss Lake Improvement Association President Carolyn Landrem during the 5th annual Water Festival
Those helping out with Thursday’s program included representatives from the Forestry Service – the County Extension System – the Master Gardeners – and FFA Student Volunteers.
The opportunity to learn how fragile our eco-system is, and the importance of keeping our water sources clean – is a lesson these youngsters will hopefully retain for life
Those meetings begin at 12:00 noon.
Also, we’d like to say congratulations to this year’s winner of the Water Festival T-Shirt Design Contest – fourth grader Miranda Gable.
